Starting a prenatal, exercise routine as early as possible is the best way to stay in shape, minimize physical discomfort during pregnancy and set the stage for a speedy postpartum recovery. My Customized fitness program is designed specifically to help moms-to-be stay strong, toned, capable and more in control of their bodies through the different stages of pregnancy all the way to delivery and motherhood.











Maintaining a safe and appropriate exercise routine postpartum is key to getting back into shape and readying your body for the physical challenges of child bearing (holding, carrying, lifting, and pushing lots of weight around). My customized postnatal program is designed to reinstate the pelvic floor and strengthen the abdominal wall through safe and challenging full body routines designed to take you beyond your pre-pregnancy state. Diastasis Recti, or abdominal separation, is a separation of your outermost abdominal muscles (called Rectus Abdominis) from the Linea Alba, the connective tissue that runs down the midline of the abdomen connecting the right and left sides of the abdominal wall. The job of these muscles is to help support your back and your organs along with the deeper abdominals (Obliques and Transverse Abdominis). The condition leads to back pain, weakness and undesired aesthetics of the abdominals.

Not all pregnancies result in Diastasis Recti, but research has linked genetics, poor posture, pelvic instability, poor muscle tone, carrying multiples and inappropriate exercises during pregnancy with separation of the abdominals in pregnant women. On a positive note, research has also linked exercise that helps maintain abdominal tone, increase joint stability and improve posture with a lower risk of attaining abdominal separation from pregnancy or delivery.     

My prenatal and postnatal programs are designed to deliver the postural and aesthetic benefits of Pilates in a way that's adapted to your specific movement patterns, lifestyle and gestation to help avoid or minimize the effects of Diastasis Recti.
